Salidity
Last weekend I went to a watch a group of alternative rock bands at Liquid Lyrics. If you haven’t heard of Liquid Lyrics, it happens to be La Grande’s newest all age music venue. For more information about them, you can visit their myspace page here.
Anyways, all the bands did great, but what really impressed me was the performance by a local high school band called Salidity. These guys play very well together. Its obvious by their performance that they put a lot of hard work into their band. Its hard to be a good high school band, but this is a good high school band.
Although Salidity wasn’t the best band that night, they were definitly the most impressive. I’m even tempted to conclude that Salidity is a more solid band then my old high school band, Colt .45. Seriously, this is the band to watch and keep track of if you live near La Grande. I think in the upcoming years these guys will be among the top bands in our area.

The area high schools have been famous for putting out a decent crop of great original rock bands…Colt 45, Hoka’s Cure, Rudolf Rocker, and on and on. And bands that stuck around after graduation like Metal Under The Influence and No History Of Violence/Hadley’s Hope. I bought a copy of the E.P. (hey, happy belated birthday Nic & great cake at the show, too!) & need to hear it when I get some quality free time to listen attentively!
