Wolfman Reviewed
If there is one word that can some up the movie “The Wolfman”, I think the word would have to be “meh”. With over-the-top gore and cheesy special effects, it really feels like they forgot the tone of the original.
This movie was based on the ’40s classic, and starred Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. I thought that both of these actors were perfect for the role, I mean come on, Del Toro looks like a wolf when hes not making movies.
Their performances were ok, but the special effects were what really let me down. Instead of going the digital route for the wolves, they used costumes, sort of like the ’40s version. While it may have worked in the ’40s, it doesn’t by today’s standards. Also the gore in the movie strangely turned it more comical than scary because of how over-the-top it was.
I dont think you’ll miss anything by skipping this movie, and if you really have to see it, wait for the dvd.
