Taste Local Foods at the La Grande Farmers’ Market Mid-Summer Local Harvest Dinner

Saturday July 31, 2010 holds a unique opportunity to taste what our valley has to offer. Foley Station Restaurant (1114 Adams Ave) is hosting the Farmers’ Market Mid-Summer Local Harvest Dinner. This annual event has become a favorite for locals and travelers alike offering up the best in local foods from La Grande and the Grande Ronde Valley farmers.
WHEN: Saturday, July 31, 2010 3pm – 9pm
WHERE: Foley Station Restaurant, 1114 Adams Ave
Each item on the evening’s menu will consist of locally grown and harvested foods featuring locally grown free range chicken, grass-fed beef and lamb, eggs, fruit, and vegetables. A portion of the proceeds will go to support La Grande Farmers’ Market. Merlyn Baker (Foley Station Owner/Executive Chef) described some of the outstanding tastes that will be available in recognition of the Mid-Summer Harvest, and my mouth began to water with great anticipation.

Free Range Chicken Breast with Cèpes Mushroom Sauce, Potato Straw Cake Stuffed with Braised Leeks, Free Range Chicken Breast Marie-Louise (Is your mouth watering yet?) Free Range Chicken Jambonnette, Foley Station Ultimate Brewery Burger and more.
